Message from the IAMOT Founder
It is my pleasure to welcome all our speakers, participants, followers, and the entire Management of Technology community to this year 2020 international conference. I am indeed pleased and thankful to be hosting the 29th International Conference in the series of International and European conferences that were organized by IAMOT. I look back with nostalgia and pride to the first international conference that I chaired in Miami, Florida in February 1988 and I find that our vision for the role of Management of Technology in all aspects of life has not only been realized but also has expanded to be the path to the future.
This year’s conference is hosted by Nile University in Cairo, Egypt. It is a young, vigorous university established with the philosophy engrained in the conviction that science and technology are the key to competitiveness, wealth creation, sustainability, and human prosperity. It is my privilege and honor to be its president.
We planned to host this year conference in April in Cairo to avail many of our participants to visit Egypt and enjoy the culture, history, and many marvels that Egypt offers. However, because of Covid-19 Pandemic and its consequences, the Board of Director of the Association decided to run this year’s conference in a virtual mode from 13-17 September 2020.
It is going to be a new experience to all of us and I trust it will be successful and rewarding to all. We look forward to a different world next year and to hosting the 2021 conference in a physical form in Cairo in September.
I would like to thank and express my sincere appreciation to their Excellencies Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research and Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communication & Information Technology of Egypt for placing this conference under their auspices. I thank the Nile University Board of Trustees and IAMOT Board for their support, special thanks to Leon Pretorius, Tinus Pretorius and Mariette Stirk for their excellent work on the conference program, to my local organizing committee, Dr. Ahmed Radwan and his team, Khaled Eid, Nezar Sami, Mohamed Azzam, my assistants Hedi Helmi & Rana Sobhy and everyone who helped with the event.
I welcome all of you and wish you a very successful and fruitful meeting.
President of Nile University, Cairo, Egypt
